temple of becoming

Guiding women through the thresholds that shape identity, purpose, and a life of their own making.

Hello!

I'm Carly.

We don't become ourselves by accident.

Every life contains thresholds. Moments when an identity no longer fits, certainty disappears, and something new asks to emerge. Most people try to get through these seasons as quickly as possible. I believe they're where the real work begins.

Hi, I'm Carly Tway.

I'm a reinvention coach, philosophy student, entrepreneur, and founder of Merkababe Designs. My work lives at the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and rites of passage, helping women navigate the transitions that shape who they become.

My own path has been anything but linear.

I began as a professional dancer before moving into television and film. Eventually I found myself asking questions that success alone couldn't answer. What makes a meaningful life? Why do some people transform while others remain stuck? How do we rebuild an identity after we've outgrown the one we once depended on?

Those questions led me into entrepreneurship, spirituality, and years of studying the inner life. I founded Merkababe Designs as a space for curiosity, ritual, and transformation. Today, alongside my studies in philosophy and psychology, that work has evolved into helping women think more clearly, choose more intentionally, and author lives that genuinely belong to them.

I work with women standing at a threshold.

Perhaps you're questioning your career, redefining your relationships, rebuilding after loss, starting a business, or feeling the quiet realization that the life you've built no longer reflects the person you're becoming. These moments aren't detours. They're invitations.

Through coaching, philosophy, and intentional practice, we'll make sense of the transition you're living, cultivate the courage to move through it, and build a life that reflects your deepest values instead of inherited expectations.

The Temple of Becoming is where this work comes together.

Across the ancient world, people journeyed to temples, schools, and sacred places not simply to acquire knowledge, but to be transformed by it. They gathered to wrestle with life's deepest questions, to cultivate virtue, and to prepare themselves for the responsibilities of living well.

One of the most enduring examples is Plato's Academy, founded in Athens around 387 BCE, where philosophy was not treated as abstract theory but as a way of life. As Socrates says in Plato's Apology:

"The unexamined life is not worth living."

Plato. (c. 399 BCE/2002). Apology (G. M. A. Grube, Trans., revised by J. M. Cooper). In Plato: Complete Works (J. M. Cooper & D. S. Hutchinson, Eds.). Hackett Publishing.

The Temple of Becoming is my modern expression of that tradition.

It is an academy devoted to the art of reinvention. A place where philosophy becomes practical, psychology illuminates the patterns that shape us, and coaching provides the structure to move from insight into action. Through free teachings, immersive courses, private mentorship, and community, you'll find guidance for crossing life's most meaningful thresholds with wisdom, courage, and intention.

You don't have to wait until everything is certain before beginning.

Sometimes becoming starts with taking one honest step across the threshold.

You’re not here by accident. You’re standing at a threshold.

Every meaningful life is shaped by the thresholds we choose to cross.
